Book #1 from the series: The Campfire Murders

The Sharp County Slasher

The Campfire Murders: Book 1

About

Andrew Alman delivers a gripping southern noir style psychological crime thriller with The Sharp County Slasher, the first book in The Campfire Murders series. Blending psychological tension with brutal realism, this novel takes readers deep into a twisted murder investigation where the line between hunter and hunted blurs.

Retired Detective Hilrey Higgins thought he left his darkest secrets behind. But when a copycat killer starts recreating crimes from his own past, Higgins is forced into an uneasy partnership with Detective Dakota Diaz. As the body count rises, so does the danger; the person they’re hunting knows Higgins better than he knows himself.

Set against the eerie backdrop of campfire killings in rural small-town Arkansas, The Sharp County Slasher is perfect for fans of gritty crime fiction, vigilante justice, and psychological thrillers. With sharp storytelling and relentless suspense, Andrew Alman cements himself as a rising voice in the genre.

I found the premise of this book intriguing and was not disappointed. I read it in one day and hope for more books in a series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tense and gory vigilante justice, with a twist or two or three ... Great mystery read!
Top notch detective mystery, vibes of Dexter intertwine with a solid, and truly gruesome, vigilante serial killer at large. So, they are somewhat copycatting the vigilante crimes of the original investigator (albeit with ramped up gore) who is currently consulting, while keeping cool? Not so easy! And who can really want to catch someone killing criminals with crimes even worse, but went unpunished. A great team, a complex mystery, and maybe they will return?
